Bo Beginnings

The Mitter family and I started this nice young pup when he was 12 weeks old, he is now 5.5 months.

Bo has had approximately 30-35 Bobwhite quail, up to date.

When starting a young pup on birds, there are some cardinal rules to follow:

1. Do not have strangers in the field. Only limited people he knows and trust.

2. Absolutely NO verbal content in the field.

3. Goals at this age:

Bird finding capabilities

Full concentration on birds after point.

Style-intensity on point.

Distance between pup and bird.

4. Always remember, there is absolutely no substitute for quality birds at this age.
